Meditation & Self Talk

Meditation is the practice of focusing your attention on a particular object – something simple, like a word or phrase, a candle flame or geometrical figure, or the coming and going of your breath.

Everyday your mind is constantly processing a barrage of sensations, visual impressions, emotions and thoughts.

When you meditate, you narrow your focus and calm your mind in the process.

To meditate,  choose a time and a place where it's unlikely you'll be disturbed for  the length of your meditation session. It's not the end of the world if you are disturbed, but it's better if you're not.

Before you start meditating, you need to decide on a length of time. Say 10 or 15 minutes.

If you're using a pre-recorded guided meditation then that will determine the length of your meditation session.

Many people find that meditating  first thing in the morning is awesome. Other people like the calming sense induced by doing their meditation before they go to sleep. Whatever works best for you is good. After a while, you may even decide to treat yourself to a couple of meditation sessions each day.

Like most things in life, it's important to make meditation a habit. Like any new habit, chances are that the first few sessions will involve reminding yourself to meditate. Then, gradually, like cleaning your teeth, meditation will become part of your daily routine.

Steps to meditating:

• Choose a meditation method.

• Choose a time and place when you are not likely to be disturbed.

• Choose somewhere you can relax.

That's all.

As I shared earlier, one of the easiest ways to start meditating is with a guided meditation.

It removes all the (perceived) hard work out of meditating. You just play your CD or MP3 and listen to it.

There are certain things that can help you in the beginning of your practice.

All techniques have been perfected over the ages. All of them are functional so it is you who will have to decide which technique you are most comfortable with..

When you pick a technique listen to your feelings while sitting in meditation. The answer will come from within that will let you know if this technique is right for you.

The second thing you need to do is prepare a meditation space. If you sit at the same time in the same place it will become easier to enter the meditation state over time.

Of course the best choice is to meditate outdoors. However it is not always possible  therefore choose a room or a corner in your house that will be devoted only for meditations. Very soon just sitting in this place will bring you into the right state of consciousness.

Meditation is a quality of the consciousness and your being.

This process can be described by the following example:

(1) Deep relaxation -
(2) Quieting the mind -
(3) Witnessing without making any judgments -
(4) Entering the meditation state.

Traditional methods of meditation can take years if not decades before you can fully enjoy the benefits of your practice because the self talk intensifies as you move in to the silence.

However there is an easier way to practice meditation using binaural beats so invest the time and find out how you can Accelerate your progress of mediation practice with music.

Remember… don't believe anything i say, this is true for me, that dosen't make it true for you so go out and apply it. If your results arn't what your looking for throw it away and go find something that does work… GOTT IT ?
